El Órgano Interno de Control (OIC) de Playa del Carmen mantiene abiertas diversas investigaciones para determinar posibles irregularidades en la actuación de exfuncionarios municipales de ésta y anteriores administraciones, informó la presidenta municipal Estefanía Mercado.
La Alcaldesa afirmó que su gobierno actuará con firmeza y conforme a derecho en caso de que las investigaciones arrojen elementos que permitan establecer responsabilidades administrativas o la posible comisión de algún delito.
Al responder cuestionamientos sobre la actuación del extesorero municipal Javier Regalado Hendricks al frente de las finanzas del Ayuntamiento, Estefanía Mercado precisó que las indagatorias corresponden al Órgano Interno de Control y no se limitan a la Tesorería Municipal ni a quien fuera su titular.
Explicó que el OIC realiza una revisión área por área, que comprende distintas dependencias y actuaciones de servidores públicos que han ocupado cargos tanto en la actual como en anteriores administraciones municipales.
En este contexto, Estefanía Mercado reiteró su confianza en el actual tesorero municipal, Guillermo Brahms González, a quien reconoció por el trabajo realizado para ordenar y fortalecer diversos aspectos de las finanzas del Ayuntamiento.
“Es un funcionario extraordinario que ha venido haciendo un trabajo importante para poner orden en distintos temas financieros del municipio”, señaló.
La Presidenta Municipal enfatizó que corresponde exclusivamente al Órgano Interno de Control determinar, con base en las investigaciones y los procedimientos establecidos en la ley, si existen responsabilidades y, en su caso, proceder conforme corresponda.
Subrayó que se requiere una investigación seria y profunda antes de emitir conclusiones, por lo que evitó adelantar nombres, responsabilidades o posibles resultados mientras los procedimientos se encuentran en curso.
Asimismo, dejó claro que no habrá encubrimiento ni impunidad y que, si de las investigaciones se desprenden elementos que pudieran constituir algún delito, se presentarán las denuncias correspondientes ante las autoridades competentes.
“Vamos a esperar los resultados de las investigaciones. Si existen responsabilidades, se actuará conforme a la ley y se llegará hasta las últimas consecuencias”, puntualizó Estefanía Mercado.
